Because we are not Russian nesting dolls.
Our parts do not perfectly align. They overlap. They bump into each other. They change shape. We are a breed of complexities, contradictories and curiosities. We are wonderfully messy beings. Our experiences should have room for all of that.
Think of it as a salad buffet!
You can't live on lettuce alone.
You are not a bunny.
We need to mix up the ways we experience the world and each other.
Crafting get-togethers
Deep conversations
Time in nature
Laughs with strangers
Fitness classes
Learning something new
Getting a little uncomfortable
A little of this. A little of that.
Organic? 😵💫 Who knows anymore.

Death-y Things
Death is a part of life, so why do we find it so hard to talk about? Death-y Things celebrate the weird mortals that we are. These spaces allow for creativity, conversation, humor and grief. They are not morbid for the sake of being morbid. Perhaps you will even be inspired.

Some things are just better with other people.
Like going to the bathroom in a pack or sending each other memes because nothing says, "I see you," quite like something painfully relatable. We are drawn to things that make us feel seen, understood, and less alone. Sometimes that happens around a book. Other times it is a gathering around a topic or idea. The Kaleidoscope Soul Book Club is on-going. For the rest, you will have to keep an eye on Substack.

Sometimes we go BIG
Not "I got a new haircut" big.
This is "I'm retiring" big.
This is "We're having a baby" big.
This is "I beat cancer" big.
This is the kind of big that brings people together.
This is the kind of big that deserves a little more room.
More people. More time. More moving pieces. More possibility.
And that's where Shifting Sands comes in.
A one-day conference built around grief, loss, and things we don't always know how to talk about.
